We care about our seasonal employees

Caroline Lepistö is the CEO of Ålandhotels, which operates three hotels in Mariehamn – Pommern and Savoy in the city’s absolute centre and Adlon in the western harbour, where the big ferries come and go.

The hotels have a total of 234 rooms. In addition, the company operates three restaurants located in the hotels. The company needs between 40 and 50 seasonal employees annually.

- Those who apply with us go far with the right attitude and a genuine interest in the service industry. We value language skills – primarily Swedish, Finnish and English – and an alcohol passport if you want to work as a server. For a job as a chef, relevant training is required, says Caroline Lepistö.

- We care about our seasonal employees. We want them to feel at home with us, and we follow the collective agreements. They get a good insight into the hotel and restaurant industry, and many return to us. But we also appreciate new acquaintances who can contribute something new to our business, she says.
