Your life, your way

In the middle of Norden, in the sea between Sweden and Finland, awaits freedom and possibilities of a different life.

Here lies Åland, an autonomous, demilitarised, Swedish-speaking region of Finland. The archipelago consists of more than 6,700 islands, of which 60 are inhabited. There are about 29,000 inhabitants living on a 6,787 km² area. With only 19 inhabitants per km² you have plenty of space to build yourself the life you desire.

Everyday life in Åland is peaceful and safe. The society is small but active and lively. Here the sea and nature are always near and the distances between work, childcare and leisure activities are short. It takes only 10 minutes to leave your desk and go to the beach.

Excellent ferry and flight connections make it easy to combine island life with pulsating cities. Ålanders themselves believe that Åland lies at the centre of the world.
