When you need to hire, international recruitment is an excellent way to find qualified candidates. In Åland, there are local and national services offered as support to Åland employers throughout the entire recruitment process. Based on these, we can help you tailor a service package that is adapted to the needs of your company.
The EURES advisor at AMS (Åland Employment and Study Service Authority) provides advice and helps your company plan and carry out recruitments from abroad.
The local EURES advisor helps you choose a target country, design job advertisements, and make an initial selection of candidates.

All vacant positions in Finland are advertised on the Job Market (Työmarkkinatori). If Åland employers post their advertisements through the Job Market's e-service in Swedish or English, these are also directly visible on AMS's own website for jobs in Åland.
When an employer advertises an English- or Swedish-language vacancy, it can easily be transferred to the shared European EURES portal and to the Work in Finland portal.

Through AMS's contacts with the EURES network, your company can participate in European recruitment fairs and digital European Online Job Day events.
If you are interested in marketing your company's vacancies to an international audience, your local EURES advisor will provide you with the tools and support you need.
You will find more information further down on this page.
AMS EURES advisors also offer information about the European Union's mobility support Targeted Mobility Schemes (TMS). This support can be granted to employers to cover costs arising in connection with, for example, the new employee's introduction, language training, or establishment on the islands.

The national program Work in Finland helps attract talent to the country, while Åland Living is the support for your company once the employee arrives in our island community.
We support local employers in building diverse teams. In consultation with other stakeholders, we also ensure that the integration process for international employees runs smoothly. Hiring international talent helps companies grow and innovate – and we are here to help you retain your new employees by making the transition to Åland society as seamless as possible.
EURES (European Employment Services) is a European network that helps employers find candidates from across the EU and EEA. Since EU citizens have freedom of movement, no work permit is required, which makes the recruitment process easier.
As an employer in Åland, you can use EURES to advertise vacancies at EU level and search a large CV database. You can also participate in European Job Days, which are popular recruitment events where you have the opportunity to present your company and interview candidates, either on-site in the target country or virtually. Local EURES advisors can support you at various stages of the recruitment process – from planning to selection.
There is also the possibility of applying for financial support through the Targeted Mobility Scheme if you hire someone from another EU country, Norway or Iceland and offer an employment contract of at least six months.
