The Sid family thrives in Åland

Finland-Swedish entrepreneur Johnny Sid wishes that everyone living in Åland would realize how good they have it.
- It's a pleasant place to be, close to everything, safe and secure, and populated by reliable people.

Johnny Sid

As a child, Johnny Sid spent a lot of time in Åland and the surrounding archipelago. Five years ago, he therefore chose to move from Turku to one of the newly built rental apartments on Lotsberget in Mariehamn, together with his Finnish-speaking wife and the couple's two young children.

- Everyone and everything has been incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional.

Investing in Lotsberget

Today, the family enjoys life in Åland and the calmer everyday life. The children Maximillian and Minnie have started at Ytternäs school and wife Milla has learned Swedish at Medis.

After spending the first year as a stay-at-home dad, Johnny started the company Lotsberget Ab, which he runs with Milla. Together with the general contractor Allbygg, they are building Åland's tallest high-rise building with 60 apartments on two prime plots at Lotsberget in Mariehamn's western harbour.

– And we have submitted an application for right of domicile!
